What are walk-ins?

Walk-ins are medical care without an appointment. Getting sick or hurt is rarely convenient. Though not all illnesses and injuries need medical care, if you have an unexpected health issue and need to see a healthcare provider immediately, then walk-ins are the best option.

Instead of calling or making an appointment online, you walk right into the office. My NP is a family and occupational medicine practice that provides care for emergent and non-emergent medical issues. They also provide first aid and manage work injuries.

What can I expect from walk-ins?

You can expect attentive and prompt care during your walk-in visit at My NP. The triage team has you complete preliminary paperwork to determine the severity of your health issue so they can determine what type of care you need.

They take you into an exam room, and your provider reviews your health concerns and symptoms. For injuries, they ask how it happened and the initial symptoms. They also review your medical history and the medications you take, and they perform a physical exam.

If necessary, the team may request diagnostic tests to confirm or rule out a diagnosis, such as a urinalysis, bloodwork, or imaging. 

The team talks to you about their findings and makes recommendations, including rest, at-home care, or prescriptions. They also make referrals to specialists when necessary.
